First Birthday

My daughter's first birthday was yesterday. She had a wonderful birthday, and we were definitely a bit worn out by the end of the day- we *all* slept good last night! Between the beach and gorgeous Paramount Ranch in Agoura, we got some amazing photos to document her day.

I must give kudos to the amazing women who helped me put together the cutest birthday outfit. First, the birthday hat I bought from a lady who sells on Ebay. She was very patient with me, and extremely fast in customizing the hat and shipping it to me. You can see her website here:

And the adorable little red and black tutu I got from a client of mine who is very talented. She has the cutest things for mom, baby, and kids on her website. She was very fast to get me the tutu, and it fit my daughter perfectly. It photographed very well as well (you would be surprised that although some tutus *look* cute, they don't always photograph well), and I will definitely be ordering more. Now that the weather is getting nicer, and spring is coming, I would like to announce the Spring Mini Sessions! These sessions will take place at locations the Los Angeles/Ventura County areas on selected dates and locations in March & April.

Here's the basic info:

Session Fee: $250*

Includes:

20 minute session at selected location**

10-15 images in a private online gallery

$250 print credit

*Session fee is for single child, each additional child/person is $25.

** Please contact Amber for session dates & locations available.

Mini sessions get booked fast so schedule yours today! Session fee is required at time of booking to confirm your session.

Newborn and siblings

This baby girl was seriously one of the most content little ones I've ever seen. You can definitely tell she has three older siblings- even with the three of them loving and hugging on her she continued to sleep so peacefully. How lucky is this family- four adorable, happy, extrememly photogenic children! Here are a few from our session:

Sweet Mom & Baby at the Ranch

I'd like to share a session I had a few weeks ago- I had the opportunity to photograph one of the most amazing moms and baby girl I've ever met. We had fun at a local ranch in the area. The scenery was beautiful and of course, this little girl knew exactly what to do around the camera.

I hope everyone has a happy valentine's day. I know my kids had a great time doing all the valentine parties, etc. Tomorrow will be all about doing some more cooking and baking, along with holiday crafts and activities. This is a past session that I would really like to share. I must say that I absolutely *love* this family. :) This little guy is two days older than my daughter, and just as sweet as can be. We got some gorgeous nursing shots while we were there as well.

Catching up

It's been a while since I've posted a blog, so I thought while I had the chance I would try and catch up and post. This session was with a wonderful hair stylist from Camarillo (if you're looking to get your hair cut, colored, etc she is the best!) and her teenage sons (and doggy too). It was a gorgeous afternoon, and the setting couldn't have been more beautiful (clear skies, mountains, amazing light).

I'd like to share some photos of this sweet little girl. Two year olds are known for the "terrible twos", but she was just as sweet as could be. Yes, she had a mind of her own and was all over the place, but it was so fun. She was extremely smart for her age and a joy to hang out with :)

Finally getting better- maternity session to share

Unfortunately, I have been sick recently, but things are getting better once again (thankfully everyone else here at home is fine!), and I'd like to share a maternity session I had a bit ago. It was great- and I must say, pools might be better than the ocean for maternity sessions- very fun! We did have a little mouse scare, but other than that things went great.

Sweet baby girl

This little girl was only a few days older than my baby girl. It's always fun photographing those that are the same age as my own children- even at the same age babies/children are SO different. They have their own personalities even at such a young age.

A couple recent sessions

You would never know there were such beautiful places in the middle of such a big city. You really feel like you are miles away from everything. Very peaceful. We even got to get up close and personal with some gorgeous wildlife while we were there. This little guy was just as happy as could be.

These siblings were adorable. Their newborn brother was so tiny- makes me really realize how quickly those baby days go (my baby is almost 6 months old!), and to really treasure those moments.

I had a session yesterday with a sweet 4 week old. He was one of the most alert little ones I have seen, and seemed very aware of what was going on around him. It was obvious he knew who his parents were. He was so sweet during the session, and we only had a few little messes without the diaper- not bad at all!

This little guy was such a great baby- probably one of the fastest 8 month old sessions ever. He seemed to definitely know what he was doing! The location was unbelievable, and really makes you appreciate the LA area even more. So much history there. I definitely look forward to going out there again! Jumping on the Bandwagon

With all this talk about blogs, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and start one of my own. I've had the pleasure of photographing some amazing children and families recently. I'd like to share a select few from some recent sessions.

This little girl was so full of personality. We started off in her home but decided to walk to a nearby park and I'm really glad we did. She really opened up once we got there and had so much fun. She had the most amazing eyes, as you can see.

California has some lovely beaches, and it was fun going to one I had never been to before. This family was such a great family to be around. You could feel the love and happiness between them during this session.

I had so much fun with this energetic two year old. The poor little guy did so well considering the water spray park was right there tempting him the entire session. He was such a happy camper when he *finally* got to go play in the water.

This little guy was a pleasure to photograph. He was such a happy and content baby with the most gorgeous eyes. He loved his parents (and grandparents too!), but I think he enjoyed playing with the dog's water bowl the most.

This particular session was with an adorable sibling pair. Full of energy, we had a blast during this session. We have a little "accident" during the course of the session. Their mother and I were talking about how the little girl was getting close to the water while chasing the ducks. Literally seconds after we discussed how we hope she doesn't fall in, what do you know, the poor thing fell in. She had a quick recovery and was back to running and playing in no time. Thankfully, by the edge the water wasn't deep and her dad was right there of course.
